6 X 6 Game Challenge Update - July

I had hoped to make a little progress on getting caught up, but I failed.  However, I am glad to say that I didn't fall any further behind.

My three games this month were all of The Walking Dead: All Out War.  I am finished with the plays for that game and am going to focus on Cold War Commander and Conflict of Heroes next.

I've played (and made videos of) 15 games so far toward this challenge.  My plan was to play 3 games per month so I should have completed 21 games by the end of July.  I now need to play 4 games per month (and 5 in one month) to complete my challenge.

I have plans to make some progress in August, but we will see how that actually works out.

  1. Hello Sean,

Do not feel too bad. I am the same as where you are at - 15 games. I am still wondering how I can do 4 per month for the rest of the year...

    1. I'm glad I'm not alone.

4 games per month seems like a lot and not a lot at the same time.

I know I can do it, I just need to focus. I play a lot of games, I just don't seem to play the same games over and over.

I have been doing a fair amount of painting for Imperial Skies and Cold War Commander. With more models now, I should be able to get some games of those two games played now.

  2. Four games a month is one a week. I don;t normally play 36 wargames in a year and so it was always going to be a struggle. I have played quite a few boardgames with my children and if I had known how many of those I was going to play, I should have started recording those plays for the challenge! I do have to stop myself getting distracted and playing some one off games. Distraction into 6 games is fine (as I did this month with 6 games on a 3x4 grid WW2 that has been on the backburner for 20 years). I only have to stop the distractions for five more months! I will say it now though - I am distracting myself in just finishing off some rules to then start 6 games for another project that has been on the backburner for 20 years :-)

    1. Even if you don't complete all the games in the challenge, the idea was to get people playing games and posting about them.

I think this challenge has done that. I've enjoyed reading about the games others are playing and it has sparked my interest in several new games.

  3. This is a pretty great post. I've been thinking of starting a blog on this subject myself. Any tips or anything you would recommend me to avoid?
